During school term the Cafe is open 9.00 -12.30 Mondays & Fridays and 9.00 - 5.00 Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.  In school holidays it is closed on Mondays & Fridays.

This excellent collection of over 200 old photographs of Ponteland allows us a facinating glimpse at people, places and events in and around Ponteland over the last 100 years or so. All of this and much more besides is brought to life through this superb pictorial journey in time, accompanied by an informal and interesting  narrative. £13 including p and p (uk only)

 

Ponteland - Through the Twentieth Century

Written by Leslie Almond and published by Ponteland Local History Society.

This 60 page book is full of photogarphs and illustrations.   Subjects covered by the book include the Normans, Merton College involvement with Ponteland, buildings, schools  and village life.

Ponteland - One Thousand year of History

Written by Leslie Almond and published by Ponteland Local History Society.

This 64 page book covers the Coates Endowment and details about the school. There are also items on Farming life, the railway and activities around village life.

 

PONT ISLAND NEWS published by Ponteland Local History Society

This bi-annual publication contains short items of Local history such as ‘POW Camp 61, Darras Hall’ ‘Ponteland Cottage Homes’ and ‘Ponteland Pele Tower’ . An index can be found here.
